St. Stephen Parish Council has the power to make grants of money or materials to organisations that benefit the residents of the Parish. The funds available are limited and competition for funding is high. However, this should not deter groups or societies from applying for a grant, as the Council is aware that small amounts of funding can be vital.
The Council determines annually how much, in financial terms, it will devote to grants. Applications for grants may be made throughout the year and are heard at Main Council meetings. The Parish Council sets strict criteria for the allocation of grants and reserves the right to reject or reduce the awards made. Under certain circumstances the grant may be provided in kind rather than cash, for example reduced hire fees for its premises or grounds. Full information is in the application pack, but applicants should be aware of the following criteria.
